women fashion styles
The Dharmatist

While researching various styles of fashion, I’ve found dozens of particular styles for women (everything from haute couture to kinderwhore to bohemian) but all I’ve found in regards to men’s fashion are the most basic (goth, skater, hip hop.) What niche cultures exist in men’s fashion?

I think one of the wonderful things about being male is that there is no widely consuming fashion trends. Guys should just wear what they are comfortable in and if they happen to make a fashion statement, so be it.

dude, wear what you want. make your own.

women are tied to the latest dictum, dudes aren’t.

my rule is clean, comfortable, and descriptive of who I am. what do you like? mix um up. get a sports jacket too, you can dress anything up with a navy blazer, tweed, cords.

Junk de Luxe, Dormeuil, Alessandro Gherardi, Emanuel Ungaro, Nicole Farhi… to just name a few. You must be doing something wrong in your search because mainstream designers outnumber the goth, skater, hip hop designgers 10-1

Well..goth, skater and hip hop..thats really main stream..I mean everything is..you just have to be yourself..take pieces of different fashion backgrounds and make them your own..like now whats popular is dark denium..casual t-shirts..tennis or men’s causal dress shoe..try h &m for men or gap..ummmmmmm like I said try different stores..different styles..pair a nice brand of jeans and shoes with a cool band t-shirt..and a nice jaket or something..I hope this helped…

including the ones you stated, I think there is also, Emo, Metrosexual, and what I call Urban Upscale (they will wear blazers and button ups with jeans and sneakers but they won’t really wear hoodies like the hip hop folks). I’ll let you know if I can come up with some more :)

There is a current trend of not letting your sexuality determine how you dress. In other words, people should not be able to tell if a man is straight, gay, or bisexual by what he is wearing. I’m not sure what niche that would be called, it is current fashion, as is dressing your age and wearing activity appropriate clothing and assessories (for example, athletic shoes for athletic activities only).
